The Journey
Journey on the road
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go. Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger, even though sometimes it is hard to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks and grieves which we endure help us in our marching onward. |
Reflecting on projects or assignments that are right in front of you and fresh on your mind are often simple tasks. Reflecting on past projects or experiences that happened some time ago or even last semester take more time and focus. Choosing projects from my first year allowed in depth thinking to how those projects impacted my work in studio today. These projects in reflection give me new perspective of current work that I had not thought about.
Reflecting on the experiences off the road have more of an impact than I expected. The impact the travel had on me when I was younger has proven to be much greater than I ever imagined. Reading about history and architecture is knowledge but experiencing the tangible, physical history first hand is a priceless experience that can not be duplicated. A lot can be learned by touching and feeling a building that can not be explained in a picture or paragraph. |
